《 kearny  》 POP UP STORE 開催のお知らせ
2025年5月31日(土)～6月8日(日)まで、当店GANKOにて《 kearny 》のPOP UP STOREを開催いたします。 期間中は、アセテート・チタンフレームをメインに豊富なバリエーションをご覧いただけます。
また、カラーレンズや反射防止レンズのカスタムも可能でございます。春夏のコーデに欠かせないアイウェアを、ぜひこの機会にお楽しみください。


【kearny:ブランドコンセプト】
色に深みがあり、使い込むほど肌に馴染み熟成する生地として20世紀半ばまで主流だった、セルロイド製の眼鏡。量産に不向きな上、加工に手間が掛かる可燃性であることから、時の移ろいとともに技術の継承が途絶えつつある。この事実は、ファッションに関わる以上、危惧すべき事象と感じ、2013年に眼鏡ブランド＜kearny＞をスタート。
デザイナー・熊谷富士喜が、古着バイヤー時代に寝床としていたサンフランシスコ・カーニー通りにちなんだ、その名には“歴史と文化の交差”という意を込めた。眼鏡産業のいち時代を支えた職人技を後世に残したいという思いのもと、すべての眼鏡に用いたセルロイド製のパーツ。各年代を彩ったデザインに敬意を払い、自身が眼で見たもの、手で触れたものをプロダクトに溶け込ませる一意専心な物作りを探求する。

《kearny》 POP-UP STORE Announcement

We are excited to announce that GANKO will host a special POP-UP STORE for the eyewear brand 《kearny》 from Saturday, May 31st to Sunday, June 8th, 2025.

During the event, you'll find a wide selection of frames, primarily featuring acetate and titanium models.
Custom options for colored lenses and anti-reflective lenses will also be available.

Eyewear is an essential part of styling for the spring and summer seasons—don’t miss this opportunity to explore kearny’s unique collection.

【kearny: Brand Concept】

Kearny focuses on the revival of celluloid eyewear, once the mainstream in the mid-20th century. Known for its deep tones and unique ability to mature with wear, celluloid is flammable and difficult to mass-produce, leading to a decline in craftsmanship over time. Recognizing this as a loss to the fashion industry, kearny was founded in 2013.

Designer Fujiki Kumagai, who once worked as a vintage buyer and slept on Kearny Street in San Francisco, named the brand to reflect a “crossroads of history and culture.” With a commitment to preserving traditional techniques, every pair of kearny glasses incorporates celluloid parts. Paying homage to design across different eras, the brand creates each product through a sincere, hands-on approach based on firsthand experiences and tactile impressions.
