【デザイン】
・West Indian Sea Island Cottonを100%使用したLEVIS50年代製DENIMFAMILYをリプロダクトしたワークデニム
・LEVI’S 50年代製 DENIM FAMILY とは、デニムを“誰の、どんな生活のための服か”で分類・設計した1950年代Levi’sの思想・体系そのもの
・West Indian Sea Island Cotton（ウエストインディアン・シーアイランド・コットン）は世界最高級コットンのひとつと称される、非常に希少で特別な綿花
・原産地：西インド諸島（カリブ海地域／バルバドス、ジャマイカなど）
・繊維が非常に長く、細く、均一であるため、糸にした際の強度としなやかさが格別
・極上の肌触り、シルクのようになめらかで、しっとりとしたタッチで肌への刺激が少なく、素肌で着ても快適
・美しい光沢、天然素材とは思えないほど上品で自然なツヤを持つ
・なぜ希少なのかというと、栽培できる地域が非常に限られ、手摘みによる収穫など、手間と時間がかかる伝統的な方法で生産
・年間生産量が極めて少なく、世界の綿花生産量のごく一部のみでハイブランドでのシェアが多い中、AUBERGEでは継続して使用している素材

【素材】
・糸形状に関して、DENIM FAMILYが生産されていた1950年代当時の紡績機によるムラ形状を忠実に再現する為に幾度と試紡を重ねた完全別注糸の7/-をタテ糸に、14/-をヨコ糸に使用し
・縦糸の染色に関して混ぜ物をしていないピュアインディゴ100％の合成染料をロープ染色機で当時同様に淡色且つ青味の強い色目を再現
・ヨコ糸に関して、20世紀初頭のライトオンスデニムは緯糸にTOP糸（綿の段階でグレー味の色を作り織り糸にする）を使うのが通例ですが、50年代のLEVISでは緯糸を電子顕微鏡で見てもかなり均一に染まっていたのでTOPでは無かった可能性も高いという判断からスレン染料でグレーに糸染め
・織りに関して旧式力織機を使用してDENIM FAMILYを解析した経緯の密度本数と2/1の織り組織でしっかりと織り上げている
・毛焼無しのPre-Shurunkの防縮加工で仕上げている
・３％以上縮むことはございません

Design
• A reproduction work denim based on Levi’s 1950s DENIM FAMILY, crafted using 100% West Indian Sea Island Cotton
• Levi’s 1950s DENIM FAMILY refers to Levi’s original philosophy and system from the 1950s, in which denim was classified and designed according to who would wear it and for what kind of lifestyle
• West Indian Sea Island Cotton is regarded as one of the world’s finest cottons—exceptionally rare and highly prized
• Origin: The West Indies (Caribbean region, including Barbados and Jamaica)
• The fibers are extremely long, fine, and uniform, resulting in outstanding strength and suppleness when spun into yarn
• Luxuriously soft hand feel—silk-like smoothness with a moist, gentle touch that feels comfortable even against bare skin
• Features a beautiful, refined natural luster rarely seen in natural fibers
• Its rarity comes from the extremely limited growing regions and labor-intensive traditional production methods such as hand harvesting
• Annual production is extremely limited, accounting for only a tiny fraction of global cotton output; while it is often reserved for luxury brands, AUBERGE continues to use this material consistently
Material
• To faithfully recreate the uneven yarn character produced by spinning machines of the 1950s—when the original DENIM FAMILY was made—countless trial spins were conducted to develop completely custom yarns: 7/- for the warp and 14/- for the weft
• Warp yarns are rope-dyed using 100% pure indigo synthetic dye with no additives, reproducing the light yet vividly blue tone characteristic of the era
• For the weft yarn, while early 20th-century light-ounce denim typically used TOP-dyed yarns (colored at the cotton stage), analysis of 1950s Levi’s denim under an electron microscope showed the weft to be very evenly dyed, suggesting it was not TOP-dyed; therefore, sulfur dyes were used to yarn-dye the weft in gray
• Woven on vintage shuttle looms, using the density and 2/1 twill structure analyzed from original DENIM FAMILY pieces, resulting in a firm, authentic weave
• Finished with a pre-shrunk, unsinged sanforization process
• Shrinkage will not exceed 3%

• A slightly elongated, classic silhouette that retains the atmosphere of the era
• Wearing it with the sleeves cuffed is also recommended
• Worn in size 42 by a 175cm / 65kg model, offering a comfortable amount of room
