・1960年代後半〜1970年代初頭にかけて、ベトナム戦争に従軍した米兵たちが記念品としてオーダーした通称「ベトジャン」を、モチーフに再構築した一着
・ベトジャンは米軍の正式支給品ではなく、現地のテーラーで私物として作られた背景を持ち、刺繍には所属や土地の記憶、そして当時の感情が刻まれている
・戦地での着用というより、基地内のオフタイムや外出時、帰国時に身に着けられ、役目を終えた後は反骨の象徴として愛されてきた
・BOW WOWでは、その流れを踏まえ、文化と感情が宿る着古されたスーベニアジャケットとしての経年変化表現を加えてプロダクトへ昇華

Vietnam Jacket Product Inspired by a Worn Souvenir Jacket
【Design】

A reconstructed piece inspired by the so-called “Vietnam Jacket (Viet-Jyan),” originally custom-ordered as souvenirs by U.S. soldiers who served in the Vietnam War from the late 1960s to the early 1970s.

Unlike official U.S. military issue, Vietnam jackets were privately made items tailored locally, with embroideries reflecting the wearer’s unit, memories of places, and emotions from that time.

Rather than being worn in combat, they were typically worn during off-duty hours on base, outings, or upon returning home, and later became cherished as symbols of rebellion.

BOW WOW reinterprets this historical flow, elevating the piece into a product that expresses the aged character of a well-worn souvenir jacket imbued with culture and emotion.

Finished with a black lining for a clean, versatile look that is easy to style.

【Material】

Cotton-linen blended fabric.

While many versions use cotton-rayon, this piece intentionally adopts cotton-linen and applies special processing to create a fabric unique to BOW WOW.

Combines the softness of cotton with the natural firmness and dry touch distinctive to linen. Smooth against the skin, yet offering a refreshing light feel.

The linen blend enhances breathability and moisture absorption, making it comfortable for spring and summer, as well as transitional seasons.
