アメリカ製ギルダンボディーを使用した「GANKO✖MaoSimmons」ロングスリーブTシャツ

【デザイン】
・フジロックのイベントスペースの設営やライフワークとして毎日一枚ドクロを書いているアーティスト「MaoSimmons」にグラフィックの製作を依頼
・今回のグラフィックデザインの意味としてサプール、煙草、エッシャーの絵、当店ロゴをイメージしてMaoさんに絵を書いていただいた
・グラフィックの手はエッシャー、ｚはネクタイ「サプール」をイメージ
・1点1点が手作業でシルクスクリーンにてプリントしている
・手作業ならではの温かみあるプリントも素敵
・当店1周年を記念して製作
・オレンジカラーはヴィンテージハーレーTシャツのようなグレイプリント
・パープルカラーはダイナソージュニアのヴィンテージTシャツの配色をイメージ
・チャコールカラーは某Tシャツブランドの配色がとても良かったため、ティファニーブルーでプリント
・着込むほどに生地が柔らかくなり、プリントが色落ちしてまるでヴィンテージのように経年変化

・アメリカンスタンダードなGILDANが誇る6.0 ozのオープンエンド糸を使用
・ポリエステルの混紡により 耐久性・形崩れしにくさ・シワになりにくさが向上
・肌触りの良い着心地
・油分が少なく、ドライでシャリ感のある硬めの肌触りが特徴で、丈夫で耐久性が高く、着込むほどに肌に馴染む
・袖リブ付きのオーセンティックな生地
・丸胴ボディーのため、脇の縫い目がなく地肌に触れてもストレスを感じない
・肩補強テープ入り
・衣服や生地を製品化する前の段階で、水洗い、タンブル乾燥、またはサンフォライズ加工（防縮加工）を施し、あらかじめ縮ませておく加工をしている

【アーティスト】
1983年 山形県鶴岡市生まれ。
2008年から東京で活動をはじめ、2020年に地元である山形県に拠点を移す。
平面、立体、問わずその時々の気分により、あらゆるツールを使い独自の技法で表現する。
また、ライフワークとして毎日1枚ドクロを描いている。
毎日が誰かの誕生日であり、また毎日が誰かの命日であり、どんな一日もどこかの誰かの、何でもない人生の一部だというメッセージが込められている。

“GANKO × Mao Simmons” Long Sleeve T-Shirt

Design

Graphics created by Mao Simmons, an artist involved in setting up event spaces at Fuji Rock Festival and known for his life-long practice of drawing one skull every day.

For this collaboration, Mao was asked to create artwork inspired by Sapeurs, cigarettes, M.C. Escher’s drawings, and the GANKO store logo.

The illustrated hand is inspired by Escher, while the letter “Z” represents a Sapeur-inspired tie.

Each piece is individually hand-printed using silk screen printing.

The warmth and character unique to hand-printed graphics can be enjoyed.

Produced to commemorate the 1st anniversary of GANKO.

Orange colorway features a gray print reminiscent of vintage Harley-Davidson T-shirts.

Purple colorway is inspired by the color palette of vintage Dinosaur Jr. T-shirts.

Charcoal colorway is printed in Tiffany Blue, chosen for its excellent color balance inspired by a certain T-shirt brand.

With repeated wear, the fabric softens and the print naturally fades, creating a vintage-like aging effect over time.

Made with GILDAN’s American-standard 6.0 oz open-end yarn, known for its durability.

The cotton/polyester blend enhances durability, shape retention, and wrinkle resistance.

Comfortable with a smooth feel against the skin.

Characterized by a dry, crisp, and firm texture with low oil content, offering excellent durability.

The fabric becomes more comfortable and molds to the body the more it is worn.

Authentic construction with ribbed cuffs.

Tubular body construction with no side seams, reducing irritation against the skin.

Reinforced shoulder taping for added durability.

The fabric is pre-shrunk through washing, tumble drying, or sanforization prior to garment production to minimize shrinkage.

Artist

Born in 1983 in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan.
Began his career in Tokyo in 2008 and relocated his base to Yamagata in 2020.
Working across both two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms, he expresses himself using a wide range of tools and original techniques depending on his mood.
As a life work, he draws one skull every day.
His work conveys the message that every day is someone’s birthday, and every day is someone’s death anniversary—each ordinary day is still part of someone’s life story.
