・私は何となく、今季ドライバーズニットが欲しいと思いました。当店でお取り扱いするニットのスペシャリストといえばやはり「YASHIKI」ということで製作を依頼
・私の要望はとてもGANKOで色替えや生地替えではその要望はかなわず、今回型から起こした完全当店仕様の別注アイテム
・まずドライバーズニットが欲しかったのですが、私個人としてはウール素材のドライバーズニットはかっこいいのですが、出番が減ってしまうと思いましたので通年着用可能なコットン素材をセレクト
・そしてインラインにあった全面に雪の結晶をイメージしたY字のニットの柄がとても好みで、この柄を活かして一枚でも主役になり、インナー使いでも映えるドライバーズニットにいたしました
・首周りのリブ、袖のリブはあえて柄なしのブラックにすることで柄物でありながら幅広いお客様になじむようなデザインを意識
・これはデザイナーの矢舗さんがバランスを考慮して気遣ったディテールですが、両サイドにポケット付きなのですが、柄のデザインを消さないように脇になじませたポケットの仕様になっている
・年齢、世代、性別問わず幅広いお客様に愛用いただけるスペシャルなドライバーズニットになりました

【素材】
・40番手の綿糸を二本撚り合わせ、その糸を４本取り12ゲージの編み機に掛けて編み立てている
・通常の二倍近くの本数を使用しておりますので、しっかりと目が詰まった編み地
・その分密度が高くなり、軟弱では無く、ギュッと詰まった生地
・ベースの鹿の子編みは凹凸があるので肌への接地面積が少ないのが特徴で、さらりとした肌触りの編み地
・ブレーティング編みと言われる表側と裏側で異なる糸を編む技法を使用し、表と裏で糸の色を変えて、2色で編むことで奥行きのある表情に仕上げている
・ジッパーには滑りの良いYKKを使用

・着用時に肩が落ちて柔らかな印象になる様にYASHIKIでは定番となった着物のパターンをオマージュして仕上げている

Design
Inspired by a quiet winter night with snow gently falling in complete stillness.
The basket-weave pattern across the entire garment evokes autumn harvests and layers of fallen leaves.
A snowflake-inspired Y-shaped motif is incorporated throughout the knit, expressing the silent beauty of falling snow.
Constructed using a single jacquard knitting technique that creates the pattern through the knit itself.
A relaxed driver's knit silhouette influenced by traditional Japanese garments.
Equipped with a double-zip front, allowing for versatile styling options.
Ribbed cuffs and hem feature subtle pattern changes, adding depth and character to the design.
GANKO Exclusive Details
This exclusive collaboration was designed to pair perfectly as an inner layer with the 26AW CCU exclusive item, the GANKO-exclusive JB Jacket.
This project began from a personal desire to create the ideal driver's knit. When it comes to knitwear specialists carried by our store, YASHIKI was the obvious choice.
Simple color or fabric changes could not satisfy the vision, so this became a completely original custom model developed from the pattern stage exclusively for GANKO.
While traditional wool driver's knits look fantastic, I felt they tend to see less wear throughout the year. For that reason, I selected a cotton fabric that can be enjoyed across multiple seasons.
I was particularly drawn to YASHIKI's inline knit featuring the all-over snowflake-inspired Y motif. By utilizing this pattern, the knit works beautifully as both a statement piece and an eye-catching layering item.
The neck rib and sleeve rib are intentionally finished in solid black without any pattern, creating a design that remains approachable despite its distinctive all-over motif.
A thoughtful detail proposed by designer Yaho-san is the side pocket construction. Although pockets are included on both sides, they are seamlessly integrated into the side seams to preserve the integrity of the pattern design.
The result is a truly special driver's knit that can be enjoyed by customers of all ages, genders, and style preferences.
Fabric
Knitted using two strands of 40-count cotton yarn twisted together, then knitted with four yarns on a 12-gauge machine.
Nearly twice the amount of yarn used in conventional knitwear, creating a tightly packed knit structure.
The increased density results in a substantial fabric with a firm, luxurious feel rather than a loose or fragile texture.
The base pique knit structure reduces the amount of fabric touching the skin, providing a dry and comfortable feel.
Utilizes a plating knit technique, where different yarns are knitted on the front and back sides, creating depth and dimensionality through two-tone coloration.
Finished with a smooth-operating YKK zipper.
Silhouette & Fit
Features YASHIKI's signature kimono-inspired pattern, allowing the shoulders to naturally drop for a softer, more relaxed appearance when worn.
Care
Made from 100% cotton knit, allowing for easy home washing.
Durable enough to maintain its quality even after being washed more than 30 times.
