A Nap Bag That Can Be Used as Both a Backpack and a Messenger Bag
DESIGN
A new version of UNTRACE’s signature nap bag, updated in every aspect, from the materials to the construction.
The flap features snap buttons, allowing the shape of the bag to be adjusted to create different looks.
The flap closure uses a magnetic component that allows the bag to be opened and closed with a single touch.
A large gusseted pocket is placed on the exterior, while both sides feature bottle holders.
The main compartment includes a dedicated laptop pocket, along with a carabiner that can be used in a variety of ways.
Carabiners are also incorporated at the ends of the shoulder straps, allowing the bag to be configured and carried either as a backpack or a messenger bag. This versatile 2-way design can be adapted to different situations and styles.
MATERIAL
The material has been updated to a rigid fabric made from a 100% recycled nylon base cloth treated with a special “KONBU” finish.
The “KONBU” finish gives nylon fabric a distinctive firmness and structure, along with a dry texture reminiscent of paper or kombu seaweed.
While retaining the lightweight and durable qualities of nylon, the surface has been finished with a dry, matte texture that gives the fabric a unique character reminiscent of Japanese washi paper.
The wrinkles and subtle shadows that develop through use add to the character of the fabric, creating a lightweight material with a strong visual presence.
The fabric has enough structure to be described as a “standing fabric,” allowing it to maintain its shape without easily losing its form. It also offers water-repellent properties.
Compared with the smooth, sporty impression often associated with nylon, the KONBU finish gives the fabric a more subdued, dry hand and a refined, sophisticated appearance.

If you know UNTRACE, this is probably one of those signature pieces that is hard to overlook.

Their nap bag has been extremely well received at GANKO, and we’re pleased to have it back in stock.

Although this is a restock, the material has been updated. The new version uses a 100% recycled nylon base cloth with a special “KONBU” finish, giving it a matte texture and a distinctive surface reminiscent of Japanese washi paper.

This finish gives the bag a more mature and sophisticated character compared with the previous version.

Of course, the fact that it can be used as a backpack is great, but what I particularly like is that it can also be carried as a messenger bag.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of traditional backpacks, so having the option to use it as a messenger bag is a feature I really appreciate. As someone who tends to prefer messenger bags, this 2-way design is especially appealing to me.

It’s rare to find a bag that can genuinely satisfy both preferences while also having such a strong presence simply by wearing it.

It’s a very UNTRACE piece, with plenty of character packed into an otherwise highly functional design.

As a little side note, when I think of UNTRACE, I can’t help but think of Left-Handed Eren.

The anime was recently being broadcast, and every time I watched it, I found myself thinking about UNTRACE’s products in the back of my mind while enjoying the show.
