Made from high-quality cowhide leather tanned using the traditional real vacchetta method by a renowned tannery.
Produced by Italy’s prestigious Badalassi Carlo tannery, founded in 1967, the vacchetta tanning process involves slowly soaking vegetable-tanned cowhide with generous amounts of beef tallow—an inefficient yet time-honored technique.
This method is not suited to modern mass production, but the result is leather with an exceptionally high oil content that ages beautifully and develops deep character over time.
Depending on how it’s cared for, the leather can take on a dressy or rugged appearance, showcasing its remarkable versatility.
