Hello everyone!
This is Hasegawa from GANKO, a select shop located in Kaminosano-cho, Takasaki City, Gunma.
Today, I’d like to introduce a special collaboration item with KUON, created as part of the Sashiko Gals project, a reconstruction initiative following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
When it comes to March, many people in Japan naturally think of March 11th.
I personally experienced 3.11 right after my junior high school graduation ceremony.
Gunma was also heavily shaken, but I had gone to a karaoke box after the ceremony and was so caught up in having fun that I didn’t even notice the earthquake at first.
I only realized something was wrong when I saw the emergency alert on my phone, and when I stepped outside, I remember being shocked by how much everything was shaking.
Amid such circumstances, the Sashiko Gals project was launched by Mr. Fujiwara, the founder of KUON.
Today, the project has gained global attention, and it might even be more widely recognized overseas than in Japan.
Personally, I strongly resonate with the spirit of this reconstruction project, and following the previous custom sweatshirt release, we’ve created a second collaboration—this time a spring/summer item.
And here it is!

In the inline collection, single-color threads are used instead of this dan-dyed yarn, making this a completely exclusive piece for our store—including both the body color and the sashiko thread.
The price is ¥19,800 (tax included), but considering that Sashiko Gals’ craftsmanship can cost around ¥300,000 for custom sneakers like New Balance, this T-shirt offers a much more accessible way to experience their work. It’s a piece you can wear not just for spring and summer, but all year round.
