レザーショーツの課題。

レザーショーツは男らしさがあり、とてもかっこいいのですが、素材の関係で少し男臭くなりすぎたり、いかつくなってしまったりという難点があるかと思います。

もちろん渋いスタイルが好みな方はその雰囲気で合わせてもOKだし、そう見せることもできるショーツです。

ブランドのlookはそんな雰囲気です。

このショーツはスラックス仕立てなので、実はキレイめにも合わせられます。

少し重く見えそうなレザーをどうすれば軽さを出した春夏らしいコーディネートにできるか私は考えてみました。

①足元をサンダルにする。
②白シャツ、素材は化繊のもので軽さを出す。
③サングラスはクリア系に。

この3点のポイントで私としてはしっくりきました。

そしてこのレザーショーツは裏地が貼ってあるので、見た目とは対照的に履いていると想像以上に熱いというストレスはないです。

The challenge with leather shorts.

Leather shorts have a masculine edge and look incredibly cool, but because of the material, they can sometimes come across as a bit too rugged or overly aggressive.

Of course, if you prefer a more rugged and mature style, leaning into that atmosphere works perfectly too.
These shorts definitely have the kind of presence that can pull off that look.

In fact, the brand’s lookbook styles them in exactly that way.

However, since these shorts are tailored like slacks, they can actually be styled in a cleaner, more refined way as well.

I started thinking about how to make leather—which can easily look heavy—feel lighter and more suitable for spring and summer styling.

Here are the three points that worked best for me:

Pair them with sandals.
Add a white shirt, preferably in a lightweight synthetic fabric to create an airy feel.
Choose clear-framed or lighter-colored sunglasses.

With these three elements, the styling felt much more balanced to me.

Also, these leather shorts are lined on the inside, so despite their appearance, they’re surprisingly comfortable to wear and don’t feel as hot as you might expect.
