Among the mill's long-established collection of classic fabrics, this high-twist summer wool stands out as one of its finest achievements.
Exceptional in every aspect—from its soft hand feel and durability to its outstanding wearing comfort.
Urban Dye (Aichi, Japan)
A unique flowing dye technique specially developed for wool fabrics in the Bishu textile region.
The final appearance depends entirely on the timing, color, and amount of dye applied, creating naturally blended shades that result in a one-of-a-kind bolt of fabric.
Since no two sections of the fabric are ever the same, every garment cut from it is completely unique, making each pair of trousers one of a kind.

【山内:ブランドコンセプト】
日本人であるということ「山内」の服は、全て国内産の素材を使い、全て日本人の手によって作られています。私は日本人ですから、日本のもの作りを基盤に服を作りたいと思っています。しかし、世界のグローバル化が進むにつれ、服作りの現場がなくなってきているのが、日本の現状です。そもそも技術や伝統は意識的に続けようとしなければ終わってしまうと思う。
いかに効率よくお金を稼ぐという事が、今の流れであるならば、もの作りや伝統なんて物は簡単になくなってしまう。すぐに結果を求めるあまり、現場を振り回していれば、技術も製品の質も向上しない。よいもの作りには、お互いの人間関係を深めていく時間がどうしても必要です。そうしてお互いを理解して、日本の技術、日本人の感性で作ったものは、必ず伝わるはずです。
日本には素晴らしい技術を持った工場さん、日本人の細やかな気遣いやセンスを持った職人さんが、少なくはなってきていますが、まだまだいらっしゃいます。そうした方達と残るもの作りをしていれば、日本の服作りの現場価値が高まり、もっともっと必要とされるはずです。
国境を越えた考え方をするよりも、日本に回帰して、足並み、気持ちのベクトルを揃えることにより、美しいもの作りが出来るのではないかと思います。

All of YAMAUCHI’s clothing is made entirely from domestically sourced materials and crafted solely by the hands of Japanese artisans. As a Japanese person myself, I feel a strong desire to create garments based on Japan’s manufacturing traditions.
