・NEEDBY VINTAGEのお取り扱い経緯ですが、メーカーの方がまず当店へいらしてくださりそこでお話をしてまずこのブランドを知りました。
実際に展示会へ行かせていただき、実は別のブランドをご紹介いただいたのですが、裏からチラ見えしたこのブランドのデニムの存在感が凄くて、試着した瞬間にかっこいいなと。
正直デニムで私自身が感動することはあまり多くないのですが、このブランドのデニムは作り込みもすばらしく加工のバランス感も良くて皆様にご提案したいと思いました。
商品名に日本各地の地名を使っているのは、実は海外ニーズに対してキャッチーで興味を持ってもらうためという考え方も面白く、作り込みから品名の付け方まで
センスを感じるブランドです。デニムのプロによる生産のため、クオリティーは間違いありません。当店ではあえて加工デニムに絞りセレクト。
加工されているのですが、ラグジュアリーを感じる雰囲気です。きれいめなスタイルの外しとしても使いやすいです。

One of the unique aspects of NEEDBY VINTAGE is its use of place names from different regions of Japan for its product names.

NEEDBY VINTAGE takes the history and accumulated heritage of denim as its foundation, while proposing new standards based on contemporary values.

Rather than simply reproducing the past, the brand interprets the context and heritage that have been passed down through denim history, then reconstructs them through a modern perspective and contemporary techniques.

Despite its selvedge construction, the fabric combines a soft, relaxed character with precise construction, creating a sense of visual depth without relying on physical weight. The design philosophy is based not on “weight,” but on “depth.”

The finishing is not intended to simply reproduce the appearance of vintage denim. Instead, the balance of light and shadow is carefully considered to give the fabric a quiet sense of depth and character.

The brand is produced by a planning team at the company behind RED CARD, the denim brand established in 2005, bringing together professionals with extensive expertise in authentic denim production.

Material
Made from an original fabric developed specifically by NEEDBY VINTAGE.
Open-end spun yarn is used for the weft, while i-Next is adopted for the dyeing process as part of the brand’s commitment to more sustainable manufacturing.
Unlike conventional ring-spun yarn, open-end spun yarn is produced using a different spinning method. Used for the weft, it gives the fabric a moderately dry, relaxed texture and allows you to enjoy a natural denim character.
Authentic selvedge construction reminiscent of vintage denim.
Despite its substantial fabric feel and strong denim presence, the fabric is surprisingly lightweight, making it comfortable to wear despite its robust appearance.

This particular pair features a colorful hand-painted finish, making it essentially a one-of-a-kind piece.

Buyer’s Voice

Our relationship with NEEDBY VINTAGE began when a representative from the company first visited our store and introduced us to the brand.

When I later visited their exhibition, I was actually there to look at another brand. But I caught a glimpse of NEEDBY VINTAGE’s denim from behind the other products, and its presence immediately caught my attention. The moment I tried it on, I thought, “This is really good.”

To be honest, it is not often that I personally get excited about denim. But the construction of NEEDBY VINTAGE’s denim is excellent, and I was particularly impressed by the balance of the finishing and distressing. I felt that these were pieces I wanted to introduce to our customers.

I also find the use of Japanese place names for the product names particularly interesting. It is a clever and catchy approach that can spark curiosity among customers overseas, and I think the brand shows a strong sense of design in everything from the construction of the garments to the way the products are named.

Since the denim is produced by professionals with extensive expertise in denim, the quality is unquestionable. At GANKO, we have deliberately focused our selection on the brand’s distressed denim.

Despite the distressed finish, these pieces have a surprisingly luxurious character. They are also easy to incorporate as a contrasting element into cleaner, more refined outfits.
