・一般的なリング紡績とは異なる製法で作られたオープンエンド糸を横糸に使用、ほどよくドライでラフな風合いがあり、デニムらしい自然な表情を楽しめる
・染色工程では従来のブラック染めと比較して使用する染料を50％、使用する水を10％削減するなど、サステナブルなものづくりを意識して開発

・NEEDBY VINTAGEのお取り扱い経緯ですが、メーカーの方がまず当店へいらしてくださりそこでお話をしてまずこのブランドを知りました。
実際に展示会へ行かせていただき、実は別のブランドをご紹介いただいたのですが、裏からチラ見えしたこのブランドのデニムの存在感が凄くて、試着した瞬間にかっこいいなと。
正直デニムで私自身が感動することはあまり多くないのですが、このブランドのデニムは作り込みもすばらしく加工のバランス感も良くて皆様にご提案したいと思いました。
商品名に日本各地の地名を使っているのは、実は海外ニーズに対してキャッチーで興味を持ってもらうためという考え方も面白く、作り込みから品名の付け方まで
センスを感じるブランドです。デニムのプロによる生産のため、クオリティーは間違いありません。当店ではあえて加工デニムに絞りセレクト。
加工されているのですが、ラグジュアリーを感じる雰囲気です。きれいめなスタイルの外しとしても使いやすいです。

Design
TOKYO is a mid-rise straight-leg selvedge denim model from NEEDBY VINTAGE.
The straight-leg silhouette retains the rugged character of vintage denim while creating a clean, flattering line through the legs.
A versatile model that looks equally good worn at the natural waist or lower on the hips, making it an easy everyday staple.
The classic five-pocket denim design provides a familiar, timeless sense of comfort and reliability.
NEEDBY VINTAGE’s use of place names from different regions of Japan for its product names is another unique aspect of the brand.
NEEDBY VINTAGE takes the long history of denim as its foundation while proposing new standards based on contemporary values.
Rather than simply reproducing the past, the brand seeks to reinterpret the context and heritage that have been passed down through generations, reconstructing them through a contemporary perspective and modern techniques.
Despite its selvedge construction, the fabric combines a soft, relaxed character with precise construction, creating visual depth without relying on physical weight or heaviness. The design philosophy is based not on “weight,” but on “depth.”

The brand is produced by a planning team at the company behind RED CARD, the denim brand established in 2005, bringing together professionals with extensive expertise in authentic denim production.
Material
An original fabric developed exclusively for NEEDBY VINTAGE.
Open-end spun yarn is used for the weft.
Unlike conventional ring-spun yarn, open-end yarn is produced using a different spinning method. Used for the weft, it gives the denim a subtly dry, relaxed character and a naturally authentic denim appearance.
The dyeing process was developed with a focus on more sustainable manufacturing, reducing the amount of dye used by 50% and water consumption by 10% compared with conventional black dyeing.
A traditional selvedge construction reminiscent of vintage denim.
Despite its substantial texture and unmistakable denim presence, the fabric is surprisingly lightweight, making it comfortable and easy to wear.
Silhouette & Sizing
A straight-leg silhouette designed to create a clean, flattering line through the legs.
At 175 cm / 65 kg, Size 31 provides a true-to-size fit.
At 175 cm / 65 kg, Size 32 offers a more relaxed fit.
Buyer’s Voice

Let me start with how NEEDBY VINTAGE came to GANKO.

Someone from the company first visited our store, and that was actually how I discovered the brand. I later visited their exhibition, where I was originally introduced to another brand.

But from behind the racks, I caught a glimpse of these NEEDBY VINTAGE jeans, and the presence of the denim immediately caught my attention.

The moment I tried them on, I thought, “These are really good.”

To be honest, I don’t often find myself genuinely impressed by denim. But NEEDBY VINTAGE really stood out to me. The level of detail in the construction is excellent, and I particularly liked the balance of the finishing and distressing.

That made me want to introduce the brand to our customers at GANKO.

I also find the idea behind the product names interesting. Using place names from different regions of Japan gives the collection a distinctive identity, while also making the names catchy and approachable for customers overseas.

From the construction of the jeans to the way the products are named, you can really feel the brand’s sense of design.

And because the brand is produced by professionals with deep expertise in denim, the quality is beyond question.

For GANKO, I deliberately selected NEEDBY VINTAGE’s distressed denim models.

Even though they feature various treatments and finishing techniques, they have an unexpectedly luxurious character. They’re also very easy to incorporate as a contrasting element into a cleaner, more refined outfit.
